It appears that there could be a quarterback at the top of the Denver Broncos’ wish list in the 2022 NFL draft.
In the fifth round of ESPN’s incredibly comprehensive 2018 mock draft, conducted by Rob Rang, who ranked Liberty’s Malik Willis as the team’s highest-rated quarterback prospect in his projections, the Broncos selected the 6-foot-2, 219-pounder.
Congrats Malik Willis… that’s the highest QB we ever ranked in our mock Draft 5 years ago (18th) 👏🏾😀 👏🏾 #DezShow pic.twitter.com/8IR3RCHOfx — RangPack (@robertrang) June 19, 2018
That’s impressive for Willis, who has thrown for over 7,000 yards and 86 touchdowns (98 percent completion rate) in his college career. He set the Liberty single-season record in 2017 by passing for 4,690 yards, with 33 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
On the year, Willis was fourth in Football Championship Subdivision at 277.8 passing yards per game. He and the Flames’ team total of 6,193 total yards this season was the most by a Liberty quarterback.
