Second man has been charged over shooting, but not yet arrested, after mystery man is found lying dead inside rear parking lot
Police have identified the deceased person found in the parking lot of a Brampton restaurant on Wednesday night as a 23-year-old male.
Emergency services responded to a report of shots fired at the Penny Lane restaurant at 6.43pm after which police found a man lying lifeless in the rear parking lot.
The victim was identified as Xavier Diaz-Williams, a Brampton resident who was pronounced dead at the scene.
“It’s important that community members stay in contact with our officers in the ongoing investigation,” said Det Sgt Cleo Goulet in a statement on Thursday.
Two men have been charged following the incident with “possession of a firearm knowing it was not supposed to be present, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and possession of ammunition contrary to a firearms prohibition order.”
